Sorry but this forum didn't let me upload pictures to it so I had no choice. I wanted to show you exactly what I was seeing.

In any case, I figured it out by total accident.

Evidently in either MySQL or MySQLWorkbench, when doing a relationship between tables, you are also creating an identifier that describes the relationship. That identifier cannot be used again and again. So I used "relate1" and "relate2" and it worked.

For those of us coming from MS Access, this concept is something extra beyond what is required in MS Access to make a relationship. Think of it as giving each relationship a unique name.
