Connection from Workbench to Different Device

I am trying to establish a connection from my device to another server with a different IP address using MySQL Workbench. I have created a user with all privileges granted and a password. When I go to setup a new connection in Workbench, I enter the hostname, port number, username, and password. However, when I test the connection, I receive an error saying that the access is denied for user 'root'@'The Name of My Current Device'. I know that the name of my current device should say 'localhost' instead, however I am unsure of how to change this when setting up the parameters. Please let me know how I can fix this problem, all help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
