Your calendar app doesn't offer synchronisation as an option? Seems to me you needs a better calendar aop.
Given no database background, synchronising databases is a big ask---it involves something called replication. Not for the faint of heart.
Wouldn't it be simpler for you both to use, say, Google Calendar based on a shared email address?
