Remote Access in MySQL Workbench

Is it possible to enable Remote Management locally on the same machine where the MySQL server data is store?

I have tried using 'root' in MySQL Workbench and also created a user and tried using that name/password locally on the Remote Management tab.

I have tried using the IP address of the machine and also tried 127.0.0.1 but WMI won't initialize.

MySQL Workbench "Could not acquire management access for administration" "Runtime Error: Could not initialize WMI Interface: Workbench.wmiOpenSession(): Could not connect to target machine".

Do i HAVE to use a second computer for remote access and to view the Server Logs or can i do it from the same machine where MySQL is running?

Thank you for answering my noob question.
