Table data import speed is very slow

I'm running MSWB version 8.0.31 on a new Macbook Pro and the data import process from a local file has only inserted 8k rows to a narrow (12 column) table. Is there a setting that I'm missing that could feed this up? I'm inserting the data into an AWS Aurora RDS instance. Any help is appreciated.
