corrupt MySQL data file ... any ideas?

Hi all,

I find myself suddenly with an empty database, no tables are visible anymore. The data file seems to be corrupt ... none of the recovery tools I tried (in trial mode) can find any data, one even crashed while analyzing the file.
Of course this happens in the middle of migration, with 2 backup drive failures in the last month thanks to power spikes, so exactly the backup of the domain the database belongs to is missing.
I know this is a very broad description, so I am looking for any pointers that might help me in finding out what actually happened (My first corruption like this).
Any comments, pointers are much appreciated!
