Import from dump of MySQL 4.0 fails in 5.0

Hello,
I want to import a dump of my MySQL-Datenbank locally on my mac (using a XAMPP-Installation) for testing. I did the dump on my server with phpMyAdmin and try to import it with phpMyAdmin ein. I get always the same error message in german. Translated it says: "No data found for import. Either no file was selected or file sizes is higher then maximum file size". Well, I did select a file, .sql and .zip - tried both. I set maximum file size to 8,192 KiB in PHP.ini locally - did not help. .SQL-Dump is 6,2 MiB not-zipped. What is wrong? What should I try to do? Could this be a problem importin a 4.0 file to 5.0? I am a complete newbie to MySQL...

The Export-System:
phpMyAdmin 2.6.2-Debian-3sarge3
MySQL 4.0.24_Debian-10sarge2-log

Import (XAMPP f. OSX):
phpMyAdmin - 2.11.9.2
MySQL-Client-Version: 5.0.67

Thanks!
Konrad
