1- no backup?
Not of all of the information that I seek, or I would not be here.

2- Has a professional tried to repair the damaged partition, or at least retrieve data files from it, and pronounced that impossible?
The partition is not damaged, the initialization is. If recovering data by "copy & paste" is a viable alternative, please help me with the steps.
It may be possible to recovery the initialization of the old partition, and I would persecute that if it was the ONLY way, but I don't think that it is.

3- Are the mysql server installations exactly the same version?
If it is, what should I do?
What would change in that proceedings if it was a diferent version?
