recovery with compression

Hello,
On a 5.5 server (yes we need to upgrade urgently, I know) we plan on enabling row-compression on a few InnoDB partitioned tables.

Aside from delay concerns for compressing/decompressing data as it goes in/out of the DB, are there any other potential problems?

For example, in the event of a recover after a crash, is the DB engine going to manage as well as with no compression?

Generally are there any reliability concerns that we must address before we enable compression?

Thanks for any pointers,
George
