Thanks for the reply - I think this is probably the more hopeful debugging path.

I should add that I'm requesting around 33 rows from the database and it crashes when calling getString() on the 29th row.

So you might find it harder to reproduce. Certainly, modifying the test program to add/remove code causes different behaviour, like truncated number of rows (with no error).

Normal behaviour is returned if I comment out "delete pstmt".

I'm happy to try anything you throw at me to help kill this bug!
