Hi,
if you want to use mysql C api(or we also call it Connector/C), you got to the wrong place.
here is connector/c++ forum.

So, look for appropriate forum or, better, start here http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/c.html oe specifically at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/mysql-real-connect.html if you talk about connection.
