Hi Jhon!

1073741824 = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 2^30 = 1GB != 10MB

As you could see MYSQL is not paying attention to the config files at all. I understand that big blobs are not an usual thing on databases but I have found this error in a lot of places in the MYSQL forums and it remains without solution. I'm starting to think that the MYSQL so called low TCO have it's own price.

The problem is still there. I have sent an email to mysql-internals this morning (UTC+1) and I'm awaiting for a answer but i think It is still very soon.

May be it is a MYSQL design fault or may be only a bug but there is no place where a solution (beyond rise the max_allowed_packet var that do not work, at least for me) is propossed.

If i find a solution or i get a right answer from the mysql-internals list in next 2 days i will post it here. Then i will try to promote this as a bug. I really need a solution for this because we are thinking on choose MYSQL as our DB solution for a market application but we do need to store BLOBS up to 256MB - 512MB.

Thank you so much for your time and effort Jhon.
