MySQL service won't start up.

Ok so I downloaded the MySQL Community Server 5.5.16 version. I chose the 64 bit version with the MSI installer. So I go through the installation process then onto the configuration process. That's where I run into the problem saying

"Could not start the service MySQL."

My Windows 7 laptop is a 64 bit hybrid so it can run both 64 bit and 32 bit programs. So I decided to uninstall the 64 bit and see if the 32 bit will work but still no luck. I took it to my college instructor for some help on getting past that part but still no luck. He suspect it's a Administrative problem but I'm using a administrator account so I think that shouldn't be a problem. I also tried disabling the UAC then installing it no still no luck.

If you guy have any ideas on what to try next or what's causing this I'll greatly appreciate it.
