I have the same problem. I have a 64bit-Windows7. Downloaded the MySQL 5.5 version for 64 bit(MSI). But everytime the installer comes at the "start service" the Wizard becomes unresponsive (the window shows a 'Not Responding' message), I have removed/installed again, try the config again. For hours, every time the same result.
