The OS is MS Server 2008 r2, and the Office version is 2007, Enterprise.

Actually, I think all the office products are 32 bit...but I may be mistaken or out of touch with the latest... The office product standard installation is in the Program Files(x86), which is the 32 bit area.

I finally solved the problem by not installing the extra stuff offered in the 'custom' MySQL installation. That's been working fine now for about a week and a half.

Still have not got the thing totally configured correctly... but it works. I'm running MySQL, Python, AutoIt3, and a postal cass software, ZP4, on this Dell 2950. Still need to figure out how to set the params of MySQL to use more than the 3 or 4 gig currently...I'd like to allocate ... 20 gig for MySQL when it needs it.
