Installer doesn't recognize Microsoft Excel 2010 (Office Home and Student)

Hello, I'm trying to install MySQL for Excel 1.0.6. When I reach the Check Requirements stage, I receive the following message:
"The Product "MySQL for Excel 1.0.6" requires "Microsoft Excel 2007 or greater" but it was not detected on this machine. "Microsoft Excel 2007 or greater" requires manual installation and must be installed prior to installing "MySQL for Excel 1.0.6"...."
I'm wondering why the installer doesn't recognize my version of Excel, which is from Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010. As a side note, my version of Word, Excel, etc. not recognized as programs under the Programs and Features section of the control panel, so I suspect this would be the problem.
My Office version was bought legitimately but there is no disc to work with, as I believe I downloaded directly from Microsoft.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
