Is it possible to control the location of MYSQL database files?

I have a system with two hard drives and I would like to separate data from programs if at all possible. MYSQL installed on the C Drive. I did not see any options to control the location during installation.

Is there a way to tell the DBMS to use drive D: as the location to create new databases?
