The installer contains not only he mysql server, also includes other tools like workbench or connectors
if you are a developer and wants to install the MySQL for Visual Studio you need at least one Visual Studio Installed prior to intall the mysql for visual studio
the Default Developer instalation contains by default all the products available for development, but if you want to install only the server and workbench for example you can select a custom setup and select the products you want to install
those prerequsites marked as manual means that they need to be installed by you, thisbecause is a third party product like office or VS or license limitation that prevents that the isntaller can download and isntall automatically
