c#.NET cannot connect to remote mysql after I upgraded to windows 10

I have a c#.NET application that uses mysql. However after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10 it does not connect anymore to my remote website.
However it works well when I test on my local wampserver so I think it must be a problem related to mysql and remote connection. Does anybody know what could be wrong?
