Peter, I agree with your response to Anthony's solution. However, I don't have the sophistication with the Windows OS to go digging around in the places not generally available to the typical user.
That said, I downloaded and ran Repair Tasks, per Anthony's suggestion, but it came back with no tasks to repair.
So, once again, I attempted to run MSI. This time, when it hung and I ended the task in Task Manager, it picked up from where it had hung and ran normally to completion! Wha...?
The only problem is I've long since forgotten the password I used when I first installed MySQL, so when it came time to configure, I couldn't get into it.
Is there any way to recover/change/remove the password without knowing the existing password?
