I am working with a Window 7 Pro. During installation of MySQL 5.7.2.1.0 I am returned a message the reads 'please wait while Windows configure MySql Installer Community. When I hit the cancel button MySql Installer is returned with 'Welcome Back' heading. When I click on 'next' to continue the installation the installer displays 'Select Product to Upgrade' dialogue box. However, the only option to select is the 'Connect/Net' not MySql nor the Workbench. I hit next and I get another dialog box the reads 'updates' failed with a red exclamation mark . I hit next and the installation displays a progress bar that never progresses. I've uninstalled and reintalled with the same results. I've gone so far as to remove every instance I can find of MySql in Windows registry and uninstall MySql and the same thing happened. I have installed MySql in the past with no problems but this time I am clueless as to what to do. I need to finish a project for my portfolio. Any tips would help. PLEASE!
