Re: MySQL Installer failure for Server 8.0.11 - can't initialize database

Luis,
I am happy to report that I have gotten around that error!

Here are the list of steps that took place:

I uninstalled the installer MySQL Installer 5.7.22
And installed MySQL Installer 8.0.11
Tried rerunning the Configuration step for MySQL Server.
It failed with the same error.

I uninstalled MySQL Server (and left the issue alone for a while).

In the meantime….I upgraged from Win-10 ver 1607 to ver 1709.
/* I did not do this as a troubleshooting step. I did this as an unrelated task in order to bring Win-10 to a more current version.
I am only listing it here in order to detail the full changes that happened. */

A few days later, decided to try again.
Using MySQL Installer 8.0.11, I reintalled MySQL Server.
It was successful!
