Re: Failed installation MySQL Server 8.0.12
Hello David,
The issue is being looked at by the corresponding team. In the meantime, please follow below steps by one of our users which have proven to work for many users reporting this issue:
1. C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Installer for Windows\Product Cache\mysql-8.0.xx-winx64.msi
2. When the wizard pops, exclude "Server Data Files" (Red "X" on the drive)
3. The wizard will install the server
4. Open the regular MySQL Installer
5. Click the "Reconfigure" link
6. Finish server configuration.
Alternatively, you could attempt the installation via MySQL Installer, just make sure to unselect the "Server Data Files" feature in the "Select Products and Features" page prior to the installation.
