Unable to install v8.0.16 - password problem
Downloaded latest community version for windows 10 today as I'm considering a move up from Mariadb.
Failed to achieve installation - somewhat frustrating. Can anyone help please?
Installation looked to be progressing well until I came to the insert root password section. I wrote down the password I used, but when I came to install the supplied database samples, it would not recognise the password I had chosen.
Guessing that this was finger trouble on my part (it was 13 characters long), I uninstalled everything, restarted the computer and re-installed. When I came to the section to provide a root password, this time the display was different and gave me no chance to supply a new root password - instead it is asking for the old one that I don't know.
How do I get out of this catch 22.......
All help gratefully received.
Thank you
Bob
