Hello Ulrich,
Did you only attempt to update Connector/NET or other products as well? To better identify what went wrong please provide the log generated by MySQL Installer during the failure, hopefully there is some useful info on what the failure was.
Additionally, have you attempted to install Connector/NET using the stand-alone MSI as a workaround? If the bug is on the MySQL Installer side it is possible that the stand-alone MSI works just fine.
