The configurations saved into the my.ini file are most likely preventing MySQL Server from starting, this in turn causes the service start to fail. This looks like a bug but first I need to get some additional info from you.
From the info you provided, I can gather you selected the Server Configuration Type as "Server Computer" and that you enabled TCP/IP protocol with port 3306. Can you let me know what configurations other than default values did you select during the configuration? Is this a new server installation or maybe you upgraded/reused an existing data directory?
