thank you for your ongoing support!

I did indeed start with a fresh installation, even removing the installer and rebooting the machine. The only changes I made to the default settings were:

- choosing the Config Type "Server Computer"
- not opening the Windows firewall ports
- adding one additional database user: username "dbadmin", Host "<All Hosts (%)>", Role "DB Admin"


That's all it took. Repeating the exact same steps, it workedwhen I just tried again to reproduce the steps. I am puzzled why it worked after 5 or 6 tries, but I finally succeeded...
