MySQL for Excel 1.2.0 / Windows 8 / Excel 2013
Hello,
I have just installed MySQL for Excel using "mysql-installer-community-5.6.15.0.msi" from the Download page, under Windows 8 with installed Excel 2013 version (bought today).
Difficulties during install:
1. The check for newer Installer-Versions says there is one, but the download of it fails. I continued with the 5.6 version proposed in the pop-up.
2. An extra download of "MS Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime" was necessary before MySQL for Excel installed successfully.
Now I see in Excel the Sidebar with 3 only links: "New Connection" / "About MySQL" / "Manage Connection". (BTW: The sizes of the windows and fonts is incredible bad! Re-Sizing doesn't work).
a) New Connection: I can successfully add a remote MySQL database.
b) About MySQL: information about "MySQL for Excel": 1.2.0 and "MySQL Installer": 1.3.0
c) Manage connection: Opens the Workbench where I can connect to my remote DB.
I miss some buttons where I can connect to my MySQL database INSIDE of Excel.
What's wrong? The Add-In seems to be useless for me.
Thanks.
Regards
Kai Müller
