panel colors when using remote desktop

When I use remote desktop (Microsoft RDP) to my Excel 2007 machine with MySQL for Excel, the colors on the MySQL for Excel panels are (almost) all invisible. I get a light shade of pink for the header line (Remote & Local), very light grey for list of connections, nothing for schemas, nothing for table names. I know they are there because (sometimes) if hover over the lines, i see stuff in a different color font.

When I am local, I have to restart Excel and then the fonts and colors are ok, but if I just reconnect from an RDP session, then I get same colors as in an RDP session.

All in all, really strange behavior. Never seen this with any other applications. Even tried changing Excel colors scheme (Blue, Silver, Black). Seems MySQL for Excel not inheriting those colors.

I use RDP a lot and I've been fussing with this for a long time!! I just get around the selections blindly because I know what should be there, but I know I will mess up soon. Please help. I've tried every version, right up to 1.3.6 and still no luck.
