Too large data problem - error 1153

Hi,

I would like to export around 12.000 rows data into my local MySql server. However shortly I got a message namely:
"Error while inserting rows...MySQL Error 1153: Packets larger than max_allowed_packet are not allowed."

What should I do ?

I've tried to do what were written in the net connect with this issue, about mysql.ini and/or cnf, but I couldn't find any solution so far.

Please help me, because later I have to use much bigger excel table in my job.
