Re: Connecting to MySQL via Excel problem
Thanks,
I did have a user set up on the 'mysql' machine. But I had host set to local. So I guess that means it had to be on that machine. I kind of figured Local may mean the same network, not the same PC. So I have modified the user to Any Host. It does have quite a secure password (if any ever are) and I have cut back the privilidges just to the main edit priviliges and create and show Views (as I guess I may need these) I understand all the priviliges side, so if they don't work I can modify as and when.
Anyway it worked !!!! Yeahhhh!
Thanks for all your help. Now that I know that I can speak to the database, I can proceed to write some VBA to populate the database (hopefully) original data is all in a huge Excel sheet.
This is just a brilliant result to start the day. Thanks again!!!
