Here is what I came up with:
SELECT * FROM events,results WHERE events.eventid = results.event_id
INSERT INTO RESULTS VALUES POINTS_AWARDED,
(ROUND(IF(RESULTS.FINISH_POS-EVENTS.ATTENDANCE*0.3<0.51,15*(SQRT(SQRT(EVENTS.ATTENDANCE)*(EVENTS.ATTENDANCE-6)/RESULTS.FINISH_POSITION)),20)+20) )
there is still something wrong i think
