Hi,
Thanks for writing in our forums!

You mentioned you installed VS 2010 but the Tools were not recognized, but please bear in mind that installing VS 2010 is not the same as installing the VSTO 2010 which is the prerequisite of MySQL for Excel.

The endless loop problem you mention sounds like a MySQL Installer issue, can you describe the problem with more detail? (steps to reproduce, error messages thrown, etc.).
