I ran MySQL Installer and it upgraded me to the latest version of MySQL.

During this process it told me that there was an upgrade to the MySQL Python Connector (the previous installation's Python Connector worked). I clicked to upgrade the connector and got the error messages in my original post.
It seems to be a problem that the
mysql-connector-python-1.1.5 software
has been hardwired only to install into Folder Python27 (I have that on my computer but MySQl Installer cannot find it, posibly because it may not be my Registry default installation which is Anaconda Python).
Subsequently, I used the source code for the connector to install it into Python27.
