Re: MySQL for Excel option grayed out in the installer
It appears Windows 7 Pro update does not show any updates for Office 2007. I downloaded Office 2007 SP3 but it would fail to install with no descriptive reason why (as expected). I uninstalled Office 2007. Slipstream/extracted SP3 into an Updates subfolder of a directory containing the contents of the Office install disc. Reinstalled Office 2007 and the installer proceeded to an additional Installing Updates step.
I verified the version now includes "SP3" in the Resources tab of the Excel Options dialog.
I checked the Add-ins tab and Mysql for Excel was still unloaded, I tried enabling it and this time it loaded after the dialog was closed. However, this setting was not persistent. I uninstalled Mysql for Excel and reinstalled it. Now it automatically loads when launching Excel.
