Re: MySQL for Excel option grayed out in the installer
There are 2 bugs in the MySQL Installer that make MySQL for Excel appear grayed out.
1. MySQL for Excel is listed as x64. This is a problem that is fixed by fetching a new catalog by clicking the "Catalog..." button and opening the "Update Catalog" screen. After that the MySQL Installer must show MySQL for Excel as x86 and should not be grayed out. Maybe the Installer must be closed and reopened after fetching the new catalog.
2. MySQL Installer does not install the VSTO prerequisite correctly. The workaround for this is to install VSTO 4.0 manually before running the MySQL Installer to install MySQL for Excel.
I strongly recommend to do both workarounds, or installing MySQL for Excel using the stand-alone MSI (just remember to uninstall the any previous version first).
Best regards.
