Hi Javier,

Thanks for your response.

I had not appreciated that the Refresh All command now has an optional drop down list of options. I was just selecting the command icon itself. Using the drop down list, Refresh All gives the reported error - Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC. However, Refresh works fine without any error message.

It may be that the problem arises only with Refresh All beacuse I do not have a valid MySQL database connection established. I am having problems setting up a remote connection to a MySQL database which I am trying to resolve with my web hosting provider. So I cannot verify whether this is the case.

I have some 10 operational spreadsheets containing pivot tables that all experience the Exception error when selecting Refresh All. Each pivot table has been generated from a single array or table in a new worksheet in the spreadsheet.

Interestingly I have not been able to reproduce the problem if I create a totally new spreadsheet with an array and a derived pivot table. Perhaps the problem only affects 'old' spreadsheets. All my operational spreadsheets were created 3 or 4 years ago, perhaps even using Excel 2007 rather than Excel 2010 I am using now, but they have always been type xlsx rather than xls.

Regarding the message about saving macro free worksheets, I am using Excel for MySQL version 1.3.4. The message appears for all spreadsheets I have tried over 10. Again I have done some tests with newly created spreadsheets - the message does not appear the first time the new spreadsheet is saved but does appear for subsequent saves.

Best Wishes

John
