I guess no reader is using excel 2016 on os-x to transfer data to mysql tables. I kind of came up with a solution. Convert the excel work sheet into csv file and use python connector to read those files. Have to be careful with date formatting in excel.
I think installing windows 10 on my mac with boot camp and then using mysql for excel on it is the easiest. Unless mysql development team come up with mysql for excel on os-x... I can still dream..
