Hi Barbara,
There is a global setting to preview SQL queries before they are sent to the server. You can edit the SQL statements after you click the "Export", "Append" or "Commit" buttons (depending on the type of operation you are performing) but before the queries are executed.

Hope that is the workaround you need.
