Ah I understand the issue now.
It does sound like a bug, so please raise a bug report so we can analyze and fix the problem.

Although, when you mention you modified the values of WorkbookName and WorksheetName, I am assuming you mean you did so in the user settings file ("%APPDATA%\Oracle\MySQL for Excel\settings.config") and if that is the case, that means the values are not being stored as XML parts within the Workbook, which is weird. Starting with MySQL for Excel 1.3.7 the add-in attempts to migrate this connection information from the user settings file to the Workbook itself.

Anyway, it's good that you found a way to reproduce consistently, now the last thing I would ask for you is to create the bug report.
