Office 365 Pro Excel won't connect to AWS MySql
I've got an AWS database which I can easily connect to using MySql Workbench. I can connect to it as well from a remote server running windows.
But with Office 365 Pro I'm unable to connect.
When I complete the "Server" and "Database" fields and try to connect I get an error message which reads:
"MySQL: Authentication to host 'xxxx.xxxxx.us-east-2.rds.amazonaws.com' for user 'xxxxx' using method 'mysql_native_password' failed with message: Unknown database 'xxxxxxx'
I triple-check to make sure that all of the fields in Excel are correct and that there are no inadvertent blank spaces.
The database is known. I use the same name as I established for it at aws. (I assume this really does mean name... and not something else like endpoint).
And I've tried every combination of settings I can think of under Excel's "Datasource Settings"
Any thoughts? Thanks.
