Excel: Making Columns VARCHAR(12)

I'm exporting a large spreadsheet to mysql and coming up with an "too large" error that suggests I change my columns to Varchar(12). I can do this, one-by-one in the export screen, but as there are over 600 columns, this would take forever.

Currently, some of the columns are varchar(12), others are varchar(255) and I cant really see any good reason why. All the data is no more than a few characters or small values.

How can I perform an operation in excel that will cause all the columns to be varchar(12)?

Thank you!
