Hi,
If you setup MySQL Server 8.0.x to use the new SHA256 authentication as the default authentication plugin, then you won't be able to connect through MySQL for Excel, since the current release still does not support the SHA256 authentication.
You need to setup the Server to use the native authentication in order to be able to connect with MySQL for Excel, or wait until this gets supported in the next release of MySQL for Excel.
