Hi Stanley,
How did you install the MySQL Server into that box?
The fact that Workbench can't stop the server indicates there is something weird going on.
Is it running as a Windows service or is it running as an exe?
If the Notifier is showing it I am assuming that it is a Windows service.
Does the Windows Services console shows the services as running?
Can you stop it directly from there?
