Hello deli mavii.

Currently MySql has no a custom DataSource control, but you can use the SqlDataSource control that is provided by MS.

To avoid the syntax error in the "Configure Select Statement" dialog select the option "Specify a custom SQL statement or stored procedure" rather than "Specify columns from a table or view". With this option you can specify the query without having invalid characters or syntax for a MySQL query.
So you can write your own query or copy the query generated in the "Configure Select Statement" and then paste it in the next window choosing the option "Specify a custom SQL statement or stored procedure" and removing the braces "[]" or any invalid character.

Thanks for your time.
