have you attempted to uninstall MySQL for Visual Studio using the standalone msi? It is available at:

Also, there is a known issue where the execution of the "devenv /updateconfiguration /log" command fails to execute on some environments causing the installation/uninstallation to rollback. To workaround this you can follow below steps:

1. If you have any custom settings in the Visual Studio environment export them via the Tools->Import and Export Settings option.
2. Go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\15.0_<instance_id> and delete the "privateregistry.bin" file.
3. Attempt the installation/uninstallation again, it should succeed.
4. Open Visual Studio. If for any reason VS fails to start, again delete the "privateregistry.bin" file and then open visual studio.
