I am just trying to upgrade from 8.0.19 to 8.0.21, and having a heck of a time just getting the database upgrade to install. I completely uninstalled MySQL (all of it) and started over from scratch, and the installer would not put it onto a Windows 10 machine because the default database table name in the installer was case sensitive (no good for Windows). I found a way around that by checking the additional options for logging and advance options, and then specified not case sensitive. I got past that, the installer initializes the database files, and now it hangs on "Starting the Server...". It just hangs there, and tells me to keep waiting. Good grief!
