What does "MySql for Visual Studio" actually install?

I installed 2 packages/applications/whatever on my Windows 10 system. They are "MySql for Visual Studio" and "MySql Connector Net".

I can see that the "MySql Connector Net" install gives me a couple of .DLLs which will allow me to utilize those .DLLs when I choose to.

But when I looked for files related to "MySql for Visual Studio" all I found was some scripts, help files and other miscellaneous files. It's all good stuff but how necessary is it from a functional programming perspective as it relates to Visual Studio?
