I'm no expert (by *any* stretch of the imagination), but is it possible that the user permissions in the MySQL database aren't allowing that user to connect from that IP? I know I had some issues with authentication when I was building my setup - I don't remember which errors I was getting, though - which I fixed by playing around with the permissions.
