MySQL native replication between InnoDB clusters in different data centers

Hello,

we need to replicate two 3-node InnoDB clusters hosted in two different data centers. I suppose we'll need to filter out the internal metadata databases using replication filters and that we'll need to use GTID.
I would also use MySQL Router for the replication threads so the replication doesn't break if one master node fails.

Does anyone know if this configuration is going to work smoothly? Experience, pros and cons?

I'm asking here because I don't seem to find similar deployment in the official documentation.

Regards
Dimitre
